Christine Lister holds a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Azusa Pacific University. Her undergraduate degree in Human Development was earned at Hope International University. She also has an Associate's Degree in Journalism from Fullerton College.
Clinical interests and specialties include teen issues, addiction recovery, grief and loss, acculturation (helping first generation immigrants and their children adjust to life in America), and trauma (EMDR) resolution.
Christine served two years on high school campuses in Orange County, CA as an on-site counselor. In addition, she did a 16-month rotation at a residential, county-contracted alcohol and drug treatment center conducting psycho-educational groups in Cognitive-Behavioral Theory.
In previous years, Christine worked extensively in the business world in the payroll tax industry and other small businesses. She has trained fellow employees on new processes as well as provided peer mentoring. Her business experiences include project management, documentation, Information Services support, corporate training, and communication.
Volunteer interests have included small-group mentoring to teen girls, international missions trips, feeding the homeless, and prison ministry.
Currently, Christine provides individual, couple, and family therapy at Pacific Coast Psychological Associates in Fullerton, CA. She also teaches psychology courses part-time at Azusa Pacific University and Univeristy of Phoenix.
Christine's philosophy in therapy focuses first on improving primary relationships. As relevant, she explores how historical issues hinder current functioning and personal development. She strives to use the therapeutic relationship to facilitate growth for her clients. Therapy is an opportunity to experience insights and understanding of behavior to initiate change and heal from the past.
